Quitclaiming Real Estate to Myself to Handle Legal pro se

Corey H.

Hi everyone,

I purchased a couple of tax sale deeds and it's time to do barment (foreclosure of right to redeem). The attorney's here in GA charge North of $1700 to handle barment (which I think is outrageous considering how simple it is), so for two properties I'm looking at paying $3400.

Now, I know exactly how to do every piece of the barment myself but I'm holding the property in a corporation and the laws in GA prohibit a corporate owner or officer from representing the corporation on legal matters (which is nuts to me!). So I only have two options: get an attorney or deed it to myself and handle it pro se. Has anyone ever deeded a property out of Corp into the personal to handle a legal matter? And what could be some of the pitfalls? Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated... thanks in advance!
