TAX ID/EIN protection

Hi, I recently received vehicle registrations in my company's name that I never did.  I called the DMV and they said it's a simple affidavit to get it removed but I asked how did this happen.  They indicated the person came in with all the right forms.  I'm now worried if there are any loans or other places this person(s) might be using my company information.  Is there a place to search and see if there are loans against my Tax ID/EIN and is there anything I can do to protect it going forward similar to a Freeze on my social.
