Self-directed IRA company referral

Hey folks, do you have a vendor/bank that you would recommend to open a self-directed IRA with? I have only been contributing to this account for ~2-3 years, so my balance is still low and therefore minimizing my account fees is important to me. I've also heard that many of these banks are smaller and/or may be insured for less than the standard FDIC insurance amount of ~$100,000 for example.
