Tree On Property Line - Who is Responsible?

Hi All! At one of my duplexes there is a tree that has become quite overgrown and a good % of the branches cross into the neighbor’s property and onto their garage. My property management company has had two different arborists tell them that the neighbor is actually responsible for cutting back the branches that extend into their property. They, however, claim I am legally responsible since the trunk is on my property.

Anyone have this come up before, specifically in Minnesota? If so, what is accurate?!

Thanks!

Craig

Why fight over the tree?  Just remove it and be done.  Good relationships with the neighbors of your rentals is priceless!
