Self-Directed IRA Custodian

Hello. I recently moved 401(k) $ from a previous job to a Traditional and Roth IRA at Schwab. I am now looking to move these funds to a self-directed IRA custodian to be used for real estate investing. From asking around I hear Equity Trust Company is the best choice as custodian. Who has used them and what has your experience been? Other custodians you'd recommend? Any specific questions I should ask or things to look out for? Thanks in advance for you input!

@Zachary Metler

I'm am interested to see what other opinions you receive, but I have not always heard the best things about equity trust. Check out this list of self-directed IRA administrators and custodians from bigger pockets. I recommend you consider what the most important feature for you is and call up a couple you are most in and ask them how they do in that area. Some of the common ones I consider are, fees, processing time, customer service, types of IRA options, investment options or a combination.

Best of luck!
