Self-Directed IRA recommendations

I have moved a small amount of money (about $6500) from my military TSP account into a self-directed IRA to be able to invest in RE. Unfortunately, the fees associated eat up more per quarter than what I can make. I was trying to invest in Grant Cardone's non-accredited fund but Provident is charging me a ton to "manage" my account. I feel as though because I don't have much to invest, no one wants to work with me. Any suggestions for companies that would help out the little guy?
