Foreign Quitclaim
I hope someone can help me out here. I am a foreign national and I have owned a home in Florida for 15 years. When I initially purchased the property, I did so by establishing a company in the Cayman Islands to avoid legal issues in my country of origin. Since then however I have become a permanent resident of the U.S. and as such, I would like to take advantage of the Homestead option for my property. In a nutshell, my question is whether a company in the Cayman islands can Quitclaim the property to me? Thank you in advance for any insight you might be able to provide.
