Asbestos in Popcorn Ceilings

At what point am I legally obligated to go through with the purchase of a property?

My husband and I are less than 10 days under contract on a single family home in Arlington TX and found out after signing the amendment (asking for a new roof, which they agreed to) that the ceiling texture spray contains chrysotile asbestos. We plan to live in the home for awhile and definitely planned to scrape the ceilings to update the home. We don't want to live in a home with popcorn ceilings. There is also the issue of disclosure down the road.

Do we have to buy the house? Are we still in a position to bargain, or are we just stuck?
