Solo 401k in-kind distribution 20% tax withholding

I took an in-kind distribution of real estate from my Solo 401k last year. I paid the 20% mandatory withholding taxes through EFTPS using the plan EIN #. The funds came from my personal account, not the 401k/checkbook IRA. I was planning to file a form 945. Should I have made an estimated tax payment instead? Did I do this wrong? Is there any way to reverse it such as paying myself back with the checkbook IRA? I thought as long as I paid the tax, it didn't matter where it came from...
