HELP! My Self-Direct IRA money was stolen!!!

Here's the short version of the story. I partnered with someone to do a real estate deal. Despite having contracts and things in writing he stole my money.

I took him to court and won the case. The problem is getting him to pay up. In Maryland, the judgment lasts for 12 years and it's been 5.

I have to keep the IRA account open because I've been told if I close it I will have to take the entire amount as income then pay taxes on it.

What can I do to force him to pay, get him to take the amount as income or what other options do I have?

PLEASE, any help, advice, referral to an expert would be appreciated.
