Need free and clear title own Tax Deed and previous owner deceas

Trena Harbuck

I purchased a tax Deed 4 years ago.  The property had Federal tax liens that would expire next year.  The previous owner of the property that the liens were against past away 7 months ago.  What are the next steps I need to take to clear title completely and take complete ownership of this property.  I live In Alabama.

@Trena Harbuck, it's not just a matter of liens expiring, you have to give the one-year lienholder notice to burn off their redemption rights in Alabama. Those are two different things.  I have a list of attorneys who are knowledgeable about tax sales law and can do quiet title lawsuits for you. It is a narrow niche, not very many lawyers know about tax sales law.  If you will send me a pm, I will send you the list. It changes from time to time, so I don't like to post it in a semi-permanent location.

(Attention BP monitors: I am NOT one of the lawyers on the list and I do not accept any litigation cases in Alabama and I don't make referral fees. So, please don't delete this answer as self-promotion!!!!)
