Sell your primary residence to your LLC - benefit or mistake?

I was wondering if selling your primary house to your LLC and renting it back would be a good or bad idea? Thinking about depreciation, maintenance cost, taxes ETC. I know it may depend on state specific guidelines - live in NC. I see a discussion, but it 10 years old. Anyone out there doing this?
