Dead tree issue

There is a dead tree (tree expert estimated it's been dead for several years, but we just moved in) in the woods that needs to be removed and I am not quite sure if it's on my property or my neighbor's property. (every house in the development is situated on 1+ acre lots in the heavily wooded area; it's not quite clear where the property border goes).
Should I order the property survey first?

Do you have any tips on this issue?
