469(i) offset and calculating MAGI

I've searched the site (forum, blogs, etc.) but can't find a straightforward answer to my question.  Does anyone have any experience calculating MAGI, specifically for determining 469(i) offset?

My question is, do I simply take the AGI after personal deductions/credits and then "add back" anything specified in 469(i)(3)(F)? That's the way it is described on a couple of sites I googled.

E.g. my AGI ends up being $105K but when I add back PALs of $20K my MAGI becomes $125K. Does that sound right?
