Title Insurance claim / Closing Agent screw up

I purchased a property about 8 years ago.  I am now wanting to sell it.  It appears the register of deeds never listed me as the owner. Upon further investigation the closing agent didn't have the seller sign the deed as Trustees (property was in a trust), but rather as individuals.  I do have title insurance and the closing agent says if I use them to close my sale they will write new title insurance and do the closing.  That sounds great but how does that clean up the deed at the county.  Any suggestions
