NJ Land Trusts versus LLCs

I get this question a lot and I'm really not sure of the answer. I've done many land trusts and many LLCs, so it's not that I don't know how to handle either, I'm just really not sure what the benefit of a land trust could be over an LLC other than anonymity, which is very typically not a big concern. Financing is often harder, taxes are more difficult to file, and they offer the same (or very similar) protections. An LLC is much easier to amend the responsibilities or authorities of the members and easy to add and remove members and board members as opposed to trustees and beneficiaries. Anyone have experience with land trusts that feels they are really superior to LLCs?
