Question on Full Time Real Estate Investor Designation
Hello BP! I was writing to get clarification on the designation as a full time real estate investor. I have heard and am aware that one has to put in 750 hours in order to achieve that designation.
Does anyone know if there is a threshold number of units an individual has to manage/be involved with in order to meet the designation without tracking hours? For example, if one person owns and manages 20 units, would that suffice? 50?
Thanks in advance!

There is no minimum number of units to attain the real estate professional status. One must meet the hourly requirements of the real estate professional status, and in addition, be a material participant. This is a very complex area of the law. You should speak to a CPA.
