Texas LLC doing business in Tennessee

I have a Texas LLC that I've used for real estate investing for quite some time, but currently don't own any properties within the LLC. I am considering purchasing some rental properties in Tennessee and would like to hold the properties in an LLC. Would it be ok to use the Texas LLC I have already established and file as a foreign business in Tennessee? Or would it be better to just start a new LLC in Tennessee? Are there any benefits to one, over the other? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
