Meet 750hrs on a Single Rental Property?

Hi folks, 

Since Padilla v. Commissioner disqualifies 'investing ' hours from counting towards the 750hr Real Estate Professional criterion, is it possible for a stay-at-home mom who wishes to be a single property rental owner to meet this 750hr threshold without becoming a real estate agent contractor (to avoid the 5% ownership rule)?  Thank you!
