CPa question for improvements
two questions...
1st is I do a general improvement to a building as I read the tax code the improvement should be amortized over 28.5 years .
However we did an improvement to just one unit with excepted life of 10 years. Can I change the amortization to 10 years if I can justify the life. Example an improvement to a mix use commercial space and or a facade facelift
Second question. If I have to go with the 27.5 year depreciation can I use the double declining method?
