CPA Tax Strategist in Fresno, CA
Hello! Can anybody recommend a good CPA in Fresno, CA (or nearby surrounding areas) who can advise me about my tax situation?
I am a self-employed contracted mail carrier for the USPS. I am looking to get certified as a home inspector to bring in extra money on the side where I will be working as a contractor as well. I am also taking classes towards getting my real estate sales license. I may not go through to get the licensing, but I'm finding the information in the classes to be quite valuable.
I also have a part-time job doing a little bookkeeping for a small local business. I am considering leaving that place as a w-2 employee and working instead as a 1099 contractor. I need to weigh out the potential pros and cons of this.
My fiancé and I are extremely interested in real estate as an investment opportunity. We have spent the last couple years ignorantly acquiring liabilities and not understanding money at all. With a lot of help from BiggerPockets, we are learning. We have restructured our budget. We are paying off debt without acquiring any new debt.
I have always done my own income taxes, but I am outside of my ability at this point. I want to make sure I am getting the most out of my situation so we can begin building some wealth in the pursuit of financial freedom.
Any help, advice, or references would be extremely helpful. I feel like we are headed in the right direction, but I want to avoid any unforeseen financial issues. Thanks!
