Does Using A Property Tax Attorney Work?

Hey now, My rent house is Garland Texas and the property taxes are a full 1/4th of all expenses.

I see advertisements for these law firms that will contest you PT for you and take their payment out of your savings? I guess I need to read the fine print. It might not be worth it if they eat up all my tax savings in attorney fees.

Any experience using this kind of service?

Up here, where I am. its called filing a tax grievance.

I done that a few years ago, and I'm doing it again this year. The contingent fee the "tax grievance company" will charge me is 50% of one years tax savings, and none if the grievance is unsuccessful. I remember paying something like $420.00 last time around.

Here's a recent article in the local papers regarding the efficacy of such procedures, in the county where I own my rentals: Tax grievance
