Self Directed IRA, My Current Home, and Getting Original (or not)

I currently own a home in Orange County, CA on a jumbo VA loan. My family and I are considering relocating to a different state and making our current home a rental.

Here are my questions:

  1. Is there a way to use my self-directed IRA money to move (what is now my primary residence) into an investment property?
  2. I.e., Can I use the cash in my self-directed IRA to help refinance the home, free up my VA loan, and use the property as a rental?

To add some more color to my situation, we are looking at picking up a mountain house and house-hacking it into our new primary residence. Maybe there's a way to use the Self-Directed IRA money to help me make this purchase?

I hope I explained my intent well enough. Thanks to all of you that help me crack this nut.
