Hi everyone,

I am curious if my TSP can be transferred to a Self Directed 401k or Solo 401k. I would love to hear everyone's experiences.

@Bryan C.

If you are self-employed with no full time employees and therefore eligible to establish a self directed Solo 410k, then yes, the TSP funds may be rolled over into such a plan. The TSP can be rolled to any tax-deferred retirement plan.

The other side of the equation is access to the TSP. If you still work for the government and have not yet reached retirement age of 59 1/2, then you cannot roll the funds at all, and they must remain in the TSP. If you have left your government position, then you can have the funds sent to an IRA or 401k of your choosing using form TSP-70.
