LLC
whats your guys opinion on starting an LLC? Is a necessity in this business or are there better routes to take??

It sounds like you don't have a lot to protect. It also sounds like if you act legally and ethically your risk profile will be pretty low. There is a cost to creating and running an LLC. You can create a business name (DBA or Doing Business As) without forming an separate entity. Many business people run their businesses as a sole proprietor.
Personally I would create an LLC but I can't give you legal advice as to what you should do. It is worth consulting a good attorney. you can also check out NOLO Press. They write self help legal books which are a good idea even if you work with an attorney so you better understand the issues involved.
