Writing off expenses on LLC

In the next few weeks I am going to form my LLC for my business to try to be able to obtain some credit lines in regards to this business. My questions is, can I write off expenses on this LLC if plan to have my property by april? Im talking about gas receipts or anything of that sort. Could it be noted that I was "prepping" for the purchase. Such as traveling and scoping out areas untill I finally pulled the trigger on the property? Or do I have to wait untill the property is purchased? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
