Free Tallahassee,FL Legal Clinics for Landlords and Small Claims

To everyone in Tallahassee, FL and the surrounding areas just wanted to let you know about an awesome free service that Leon County Clerk of Court provides. 4 times a year they host an informational clinic regarding Landlord-Tenant Issues and the small claims process.

The county provides a judge and a local attorney to answer anyone's questions and leads you through the step-by-step process of eviction. In Tallahassee eviction is on the "fast-track" in the court system. Typically you can evict someone within 26 days for less than $700.  This is a huge resource which everyone that is a landlord should utilize.

I found out from the last meeting that I (unknowingly) illegally took possession of my rental when the tenant abandoned it. I should have filed a few notices before retaking possession... Live and learn

All the 2015 meeting dates have past but you can check their website early next year for the 2016 schedule at the leon county clerk of court website and click on announcements in the upper left hand corner.
