Legal Malpractice
Had a lawyer help me with an eviction a while ago, I now believe the advice he gave me was incorrect. Also I specifically asked him to file the eviction in one court and he went behind my back and filed it in a different court (because he was going to be on vacation). There were other issues too - not answering the phone when we had a prearranged call, not filing paperwork timely, etc. Long story short this not only may have affected the outcome of my case, I spent over $2000 to travel to the area for a court date that got postponed (which never would have happened if he had done as I asked). Any thoughts on whether I could get the money back that I paid for him to (mis)advise me, or sue him for lost wages?
