Buyer asking for an Invoice for Commission
I am about to close on a wholesale deal, and the buyers are asking me to give them an “Invoice for Commission” for the amount of my assignment fee. They say it’s for tax purposes. I’ve never heard of this and can’t find any information about it. Is this something I should do? I’m not getting a “commission”. I’m getting an “assignment fee”. I’m wondering how that will affect taxes for me.
These buyers have been a bit of a headache to work with. I’m ready for it to be done. If I say no to this “Invoice for Commission" they are going to make a huge deal out of it and hold up closing again. If it's no big deal I can easily do it. I just want to make sure it's not going to affect me in a negative way.
Thanks for any advice!
