Tax liability on foreign rentals

I'm looking to buy a few single family homes in Mexico to rent out. We live in the US and I know that I probably would have to consult a Mexican tax attorney regarding Mexican tax law, but was hoping somebody here would be able to advise on the liabilities that we would face here in the US. These would be pure rentals not vacation homes and we wouldn't live in any of these properties. The rental income should be between $800 USD and $1,500 USD per month per property.
