Ethics and reasons for filing extensions

This year I will owe significant money to the irs because of a few successful flips.

What is your opinion on the ethicality of filing an extension to delay payment.  Do you do this ? 

Also, I love bigger pockets, but does anyone have any suggestions for a website just pertaining to real estate tax law ?
