assignment contracts

I have a seller willing to sell me his property. I have a sales contract, but it says nothing about the possibility of an assignment. Do I just make an addendum to the contract that the sales contract of the property may be assigned, or is there a special contract that has to be used. Can someone please explain, I may be putting this property under contract today.
