Challenging Property Taxes

Trevor F.
Posted

Hi Everyone,

I own many single family rentals in toledo and i have never tried to challenge the tax assessment. Is it worth while to do? Does anyone know any attorneys or anybody that can do this in Lucas County Ohio where its cost effective.

You will usually get mailers from attorneys that do this yearly they will take a fee based on your savings.  Check with your county it is so specific for property taxation.  Most hearings are very informal and you can represent yourself, while larger cases are specialized and you would hire an MAI and attorney.

For example, in my county you can actually go to your hearing and get your taxes increased on appeal fun right....
