CA Entity Change C-Corp to LLC--Entity number not compatible with CPA software!

**WARNING** Do not try to read this Post unless you're truly a Tax Nerd

In April 2022 the SOS/FTB --someone in CA Taxland changed HOW Entity numbers are assigned during a conversion.

The FTB is not recognizing Secretary of State change in entity numbers

Long story short- I created a C-Corp Jan 2022. Entity numbers ALL are 7 digits and start with a "C". Converted to LLC in Dec 2022. My entity number stayed the same. I called three different times to SOS- they said that is my number, and WILL be my number. My CPAs software will not let them file my LLC return. They said they can file the LLC-1A form to get a 12 digit numberThats I filed that when I converted from C-Corp to LLC. They want to charge me $1800 to do this and get a 12 digit number which will not happen. It will simply regenerate the same entity number. Again.

Has anyone run into this with their CPA software?

Anyone know someone on the CA FTB?
