W9 for land trust

Sean Wang
Posted

I'm in the process of purchasing a home and I plan to put it under a land trust. The trustee will be a LLC and I will be the beneficiary. I'm planning to hire a property management firm to manage the property for me. I understand the trustee (LLC) will sign all documents with the PM company.

With regard to tax, a land trust is a pass-through entity. On the W9 form I provide to the property management company, do I need to provide my name and my SSN? I feel I'm loosing anonymity protection if I put my name on the W9.
