Amended 2012 taxes taking forever

This past summer, I had my taxes amended. This was my first year filing for the LLC and I tried it myself first and royally messed it up. So I hired a CPA to do the amendment of the LLC and personal taxes.

As of today, the IRS still shows no status of my refund. Calling them is a nightmare because even when you call at 0700 (eastern time), the wait time is super long.

I asked my CPA to look into this. He just sent an email saying that he was on hold for an hour and they told him that he needs to do a Power of Attorney to be able to "step it up a level and get this taken care of." He said he'd email one over to me this afternoon to sign and return.

This is all new to me. Does this sound right?
