Attorney/Tax Team in Michigan for REI?
We have been looking into purchasing buy and hold properties in the future for and would like to set up a Solo 401K, so we went down the rabbit hole of researching what to do and we came across both KKOS (Mark Kohler) and Anderson Advisors (Clint and Toby). We were drawn to the fact that both of these companies integrate attorneys and CPA’s in one business and they are both real estate investors themselves so they understand what you are trying to accomplish and most importantly avoiding the potential pitfalls.
We liked the business model and the depth of information that Anderson provided, but then we started doing some further research on the company and their reviews. It seems like there are some decent and credible reviews, but then there were some not so good reviews, saying that they have grown too fast to adequately provide client service that they guarantee as part of their membership.
We looked through the BP forum and haven’t seen any post similar to this since 2020, so were wondering if things have changed or improved or they simply are turning and burning their clients. Anyone personally have experience with KKOS of Anderson Advisors?
Ultimately, we would preferably like to work with an attorney and CPA that understands real estate investing, how to properly set up business entities, draft operating agreements, maintain anonymity, setup a living trust, and has knowledge of how to save money on taxes through depreciation, etc.
I don’t know if this is far-fetched, but if there is an attorney/tax team in Southwest Michigan or Michigan in general that anyone can help point us in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated!
