Public Guardianship in New York City
Hi all. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm working with a seller in New York City who has a house in New Jersey. She may need to have a guardian appointed by the courts to reside over her affairs as she seems unable to make the right decisions or even comprehend the situation her house is in (late stage tax foreclosure). I have reason to believe that she may be experiencing some type of dementia but not sure. From what I'm reading it looks like there are non-profit agencies who get appointed by the state or city to preside over someone's affairs? I'm Not really clear so I'm checking here to see if anyone has any experience in that area and or a contact in state government or non profit agency I can reach out to.
Thank you in advance.
