HELOC on Rental without 6-12 Months of Rent History

We moved out of our primary residence a couple of months ago and we are holding it as a rental. We bought a new primary residence but I unfortunately procrastinated taking out the HELOC on our 1st house (approximately 100k in equity) until we were close to moving. The credit unions I have talked to have told me they need 6-12 months of rental history before they will approve a HELOC on our rental house located in southern Utah. Has anyone been able to get a HELOC on a rental property without waiting for so long?
