Paying back investors (borrowed money)

So I looking to borrow money for a down payment from friends/family. I was wondering what are ways going about to pay them back? 

ex. paying monthly interest until I can pay in full, writing a contract and notarizing, or giving a large chunk of rental income until paid back in full...

I would love to hear what works for someone else.
