Personal Loan to buy property overseas?

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has gotten a personal loan to buy property overseas. I have the downpayment in cash but wanted to finance the rest with a personal loan. Tried calling different entities like SoFi and Rocket Loan and also Banks like WellsFargo. They all told me they would not lend me for investment or buying property. It just sounds crazy to me that they would loan money for everything else. If I apply online and select "other" for the reason of my loan and I get approved, am I gonna be asked to show what I did with that money, where did I spend it?
