Personal Mortgage into LLC

I have a few rental properties with mortgages I obtained in my personal name. Am I allowed to transfer the property into my LLC via quitclaim deed? Do I need to inform my mortgage company? Would they even allow this? I want to do this for liability reasons (i.e. if one of my tenants slips and falls and attempts to sue, etc.) Thanks.
