First Time Home Buyers Programs
Hi BP community!
I've seen a few older post about the subject but I figured I'd kind of reintroduce(?) the many home buying assistance programs offered in your state. Every state follows the same basic criteria. But the best part is the programs WITHIN the program. For example, in the state of Maryland one of their programs forgives 40k in student loan debt with the purchase of a state owned home in a specific area. Other programs offer down payment assistance in the form of grants, rate assistance and deferred loans.
This is especially beneficial to those who plan to house hack. I forgot to mention to that these programs are used in conjunction with your FHA, VA, USDA,etc. loans. You could literally get into a property for 0.5% down! Or even nothing out of pocket! Who would turn THAT down. Its definitely worth looking into for a first timer. Just Google "(Your state here) mortgage program" and see what you learn about your state.
Happy investing!
