Living in SW Florida. New to RE investing

Hello everyone, I’m pleased to join the BiggerPockets community. My wife and I are making the leap into real estate investing but obviously we have questions. 1) Currently, to obtain funds for investing would it be more effective to create a LLC business or try to raise funds as an individual? 2) We purchased our home in 2010 when the market was down. The purchase price was $86K but currently with our renovations the market value should be around $185k and up. Would it make sense to utilize the equity in the home to Move forward for purchasing our first investment or should we leave our main property’s equity alone?
