Is financing possible with new line of work?

Hi good afternoon everyone. I really appreciate any advice given. My husbands fico is 640, after working in a dairy farm for 14 years he changed his job field to construction work. Now he makes double what he was making. He is a Journeyman for the union. He just started in November of 2017. He left one job to start another. We would really like to buy a house, but don't think he qualifies because of the job change. Could you please give me some advice?
