Taking over Mortgage
Hi everyone. I’m currently trying to gather information in effort to gain my first rental property. The property is valued around 70 - 80k with a current mortgage of about 60k in a smaller Texas town.
My question has anyone had any experience with mortgage assignment? Is this something that is possible or do I have to go through the whole mortgage process?
Please provide any input on the options that are available. Thanks.

@Jonathan Arceneaux all good advice here on the "subject to" route. Assuming a mortgage is very different than the "subject to" route. Also, as long as that mortgage is paid on time the lender won't call the note due. Tag away if you have any other questions. Thanks!
