Can I Choose The Appraisal Management Company (AMC) When Applying For A Mortgage?
Good evening! I recently heard from a colleague that you can choose the Appraisal Management Company (AMC) used to obtain a mortgage from a bank. The idea is that if the AMC is familiar with you, they might favor a higher appraisal, which could benefit you. Is this true?
Also, in general, would an appraiser likely aim to provide favorable results to keep you as a repeat customer? Otherwise, if their appraisals are consistently unfavorable, clients might choose to go elsewhere. Is this a common phenomenon?
