Great FICO but difficult getting conventional loan

Sarah Bell
Posted

My husband and I have a 847 FICO score and have worked consistently the past 2 years (and way before that). However, we have had multiple different jobs for short amounts of time each over those 2 years. We both have started new jobs in the last 6 months. We found a house for $72,500 and have the 20% down payment. (This house would be for our primary residence). However, because of job history and low loan amount needed ($58,000), we can't get a conventional loan.

How can I go about finding a private individual as a lender or are there other creative ways to finance this deal?

I'd check with smaller banks and credit unions.  They often make loans of this type.
