Private Financing for Expat living overseas.

David Sawallisch

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for some help or advice of how to move forward. I really want to find a turnkey rental with an established PM. just some quick info about me so you can understand my struggle.

first off I live and work in China. I am a US citizen but have lived and worked overseas for the past 6 years.

As an overseas citizen I still file my taxes annually but due to the US tax laws I try my best to keep them as minimal as possible so I claim around 9000usd a year. My wife however a Chinese citizen claims most of our income so we aren't dually taxed. (I don't use the foreign tax exclusion because I invest in a ROTH IRA and they won't allow that.)

Not sure if anyone would have some advice for us. or would be able to help us work with us on this but my wife and I together earn between 60 to 80 thousand a year in USD of course it can vary on the exchange rate. We also hold many investment assets (US Stocks/Chinese Stocks/Money Market) equalling around 160k USD.
