Relocating to FL from CA— Lender Question

Adam Keith Sloan
Posted

Hello BP world, thanks in advance for the help!!

I am wanting to relocate my family to the greater Sarasota, FL area and I am curious how I achieved financing while living and still employed in California. We are wanting to purchase a house in the $350k to $400k range and use an FHA loan so we can keep our down payment as low as possible. We will have about a $100k cash as a nest egg after down payment and moving costs. Is this possible to achieve without having a new job lined up in FL? My wife and I are experienced working professionals and are not too worried about finding new employment, just curious if anyone has been in this situation or could provide some insight.
